For members of our community who are dealing with mental health issues, Beacon Community Services provides compassionate, practical services to promote the development of self-sufficiency and life skills.

Rain or Shine Group for Girls with Anxiety

Free support group for girls aged 10-12 in School District 63. Please see our Youth & Family Services page for details.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Program, Greater Victoria and Salt Spring Island

Beacon Community Services provides free support to families and youth (birth-18 years) who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected to have, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

Our dedicated, knowledgeable Keyworker Services team can:

  • Help your family access community resources;
  • Assist with the process of being assessed and diagnosed;
  • Create personalized strategies that help people with FASD be successful at home, at school, and in the community;
  • Assist with planning for the future and helping youth with FASD transition into adulthood;
  • And more.

Our monthly FASD Parent Support Group meetings offer caregivers who are raising children or youth with FASD the opportunity to meet for peer support, get information on FASD, and share parenting and self-care strategies.

HeArt N Soul Support Group, Saanich Peninsula

Members of this support group meet weekly in Sidney for conversation. The group is self-supporting and facilitated by qualified personnel. All members commit to show respect to attendees by maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of all concerned.  Conversations and activities are inclusive of all attendees.  Please note that, to attend HeArt N Soul, a referral is required from a doctor or other medical personnel.

Laurel House Drop-in Centre, Victoria

At Laurel House in Victoria BC, people will find a warm, welcoming space where they can develop new skills in a therapeutic social setting. Help in the Laurel House garden, bake cookies or prepare a meal, drop in to socialize with other visitors, play a game of cards or chess, or talk with our caring, knowledgeable staff about community resources that might be suitable for you.

First-time visitors: please provide a referral from a doctor or other medical personnel.
