Our nature-based childcare programs connect children to the outdoors, fostering an understanding of their relationship with the land. Using our growing knowledge in the Indigenous ways of knowing, we encourage children to respect their interactions with the land and the community they live in.
Our Approach to Care
We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where children learn, build trust, and develop independence. Through play, especially outdoors, we support children’s emotional, social, cognitive, physical, creative, and language development, while respecting each child as a capable individual with a unique background and voice.
TEAM II Childcare Centre
Location: Individual Learning Centre, 1649 Mt. Newton Cross Rd., Saanichton
Hours: 8am-5pm
Ages: Birth–5
Capacity:
12 infants/toddlers (under 3)
18 preschool children (ages 3–5)
The centre offers licensed, full-time infant/toddler and preschool care. Programs include snacks and lunch.
TEAM is a $10-a-day ChildcareBC Centre, with fees capped at $10 per day, to a maximum of $200 per month per child.
ŚEŚIŚEJ Childcare Centre
Location: 7420 Veyaness Rd., Saanichton
Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm
Ages: Birth – 5

12 infant/toddler (under 3)
48 preschool children (ages 3-5)
ŚEŚIŚEJ (saw-see-such), which means “little forest” in SENĆOŦEN (sen-CHOH-sen) is the name gifted to us by the Elders of Tsartlip (sart-lip) Nation. The centre offers care for 12 infants/toddlers under three years of age and Group Care for up to 48 three- to five-year-olds.
There is opportunity for full- and part-time care, priority will be given to full-time care. The program includes lunch 4 days/week.
Otter-Be-Fun
Location: Brentwood Elementary, 7085 Wallace Dr., Central Saanich
Hours: 7am-8:45am | 2:45pm-6:00pm

78 spaces for after school care
The Otter-Be-Fun Before School program welcomes 54 children, and the After School program welcomes 78 children. Holiday and Summer Care programs are also available. Our programs include snacks, regularly scheduled outings and plenty of fun activities.
