Child and Family Counselling

All families experience challenges. Beacon Community Services’ counselling team can assist families to manage through them.

If your child attends an elementary or middle school on the Saanich Peninsula, our skilled counsellors can help you (and your parenting partner) address what’s getting in the way.

Our program is offered in partnership with School District 63 and Ministry of Children and Family Development. Services are available Monday-Saturday. For more information, please contact Central Intake at 250-655-5305.

Parent Support Group

Parenting a child or teen with anxiety can feel like a lonely and overwhelming journey. You are not alone. Connect with other parents in a supportive environment. During this interactive group, hear from other parents, share ideas and discuss strategies for supporting yourself and your pre-teen or teen.

This drop-in support group will be held every second Thursday of each month and is open to all parents residing on the Saanich Peninsula. A Child and Youth Counselor will be on site to help facilitate the discussions. For interest and more information please contact
250-216-2450.

Family Development Counselling

Beacon counsellors support families who are in the care of (or about to come into the care of) the Ministry of Children and Family Development. We work in partnership with the ministry and members of your family (of all ages) to support a stronger, healthier family relationship. If you think this service might be appropriate for you, please ask your ministry caseworker for information and a referral.

Individual Learning Centre Counselling

In partnership with School District 63, a Beacon mental health counsellor offers caring, practical support to students who are registered with the Broadmead Individual Learning Centre in Saanich or the Individual Learning Centre in Saanichton.  For more information, please check with school staff.

Teenage (Youth) and Family Counselling

We offer counselling, mediation and, when appropriate, respite care to help youth and their families cope with a variety of issues, including those related to behavior or parenting. For more information, please contact Central Intake at 250-655-5305.
