This fun, free program, sponsored jointly with School District #63, provides parents and caregivers with social connections and parenting support while infants and toddlers (0-3 years) enjoy a healthy snack, along with favourite nursery rhymes and songs that support early literacy skills and social/emotional development. We offer several 10-week sessions during the year both for infants and toddlers. For more information please contact 250-415-9794.
In partnership with SD 63, Beacon offers free, drop-in pre-school programming at Sidney elementary school. Parents /caregivers and their preschoolers build valuable skills and social connection before their children enter school. Through play and social setting, StrongStart introduces children to story time, art, songs, nutrition, and other forms of learning which are important to their development. Programs run from September-June; parents or caregivers must accompany children.
School District 63 also offers StrongStart at Brentwood and Lochside elementary schools.

In partnership with School District 63, Beacon Community Services enables Peninsula kids to develop their language and early literacy skills by distributing gently used, donated books to local families. Our goal is to make free books available so young children may have 1000 books read to them by the time they’re 5. For information about how to donate or receive books, please contact Daphne Macnaughton at 250-744-2631; email firstname.lastname@example.org.
