Beacon Community Services wants to help kids get the best start in life and stay as safe and healthy as possible.
In addition to programs and services offered through our Counselling department and our other Children, Youth and Families services, we also offer the following safety and health programs.
There’s a bewildering array of car seats on the market — and safely installing them isn’t always as easy as it might seem! Beacon Community Services therefore offers free clinics to educate caregivers about car seats.
Over 50% of car seats are incorrectly installed. To double check that your child’s seat is properly installed, please book an informative safety session: call 250-415-9794, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
To assist children safely across streets on their way to and from school during the 2017-18 school year, our friendly, trained staff are pleased to serve as crossing guards at a number of schools in the Capital Regional District. If you’re interested in serving your community as a crossing guard, please note that we continue to welcome applications for the current school year’s program: please see available positions on our Career Opportunities page.
On behalf of the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, Beacon operates Jeneece Place in Victoria as a home away from home for sick kids’ families.
