Beacon Community Services wants to help kids get the best start in life and stay as safe and healthy as possible.
In addition to programs and services offered through our Counselling department and our other Children, Youth and Families services, we also offer the following safety and health programs.
There’s a bewildering array of car seats on the market — and safely installing them isn’t always as easy as it might seem! Beacon Community Services therefore offers free clinics to educate caregivers about car seats.
Over 50% of car seats are incorrectly installed. To double check that your child’s seat is properly installed, please book an informative safety session: call 250-415-9794, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
With the start of the 2018-19 school year, the new Greater Victoria Crossing Guards Association (GVCGA) will assume responsibility for crossing guard services in School District 61. Beacon was happy to support the new Association by providing equipment and training information and sharing our team’s knowledge of crossing guard safety programs.
For information about the GVCGA’s SD 61 crossing guard program, please contact GVCGA President Audrey Smith (email GVCGA@mail.com).
On behalf of the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, Beacon operates Jeneece Place in Victoria as a home away from home for sick kids’ families.
