Beacon’s Nature Club Before and After School Care program will serve children who attend Pexsisen Elementary. Beacon’s Little Stars Pre-School program at Pexsisen looks forward to welcoming 3- to 5 year-olds who live within Pexsisen Elementary’s catchment area (or whose guardian is employed by SD 62 at Pexsisen Elementary or  Centre Mountain Lellum Middle School).

  • We know many families are excited to join these play-based, nature-inspired programs. Space may be limited. We regret we cannot accept applications before or after the designated application times. Applications will be processed according to the order in which they’re received, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • 10% of the available childcare space at Pexsisen elementary has been allocated for School District 62 staff, prioritizing those who work at the site where the childcare centre is located.
  • Accordingly, SD 62 staff who work at the Pexsisen Elementary or Centre Mountain Lellum Middle School should have received an email (with a Staff Application for Childcare Space form) from their principal. Their completed application forms for staff-designated childcare spaces will be accepted between 7:00pm June 15 and noon June 17.
  • SD 62 staff who cannot apply through that workplace-based process (or who apply but unfortunately don’t get a space) may use the Community application form to apply during the Community application window (7:00 pm June 21 and 7:00 pm June 27).

New childcare centre planned for Saanichton

We’re excited to be partnering with School District 63 on a new centre that will create more than 80 childcare spaces in 2023!  Construction on the Saanichton project is expected to start later this year. The licensed centre will offer fun, nature-inspired play-based learning and nurturing care for 84 infants, toddlers and preschoolers.  We look forward to continuing the legacy as we build on Beacon’s strong tradition of working with families to meet children’s emotional, social, and healthy development needs, while working in partnership with SD 63.

We regret that registrations are not currently being accepted, as the centre is in the initial phase of planning and design.  However, interested families are encouraged to watch for more information as we move forward.  Please stay tuned for more details! We look forward to announcing project timelines and providing more information soon!
