Newsletter launched for Beacon volunteers

Beacon volunteers have told us (including through our recent survey of volunteers) that they’d like to see more communication about Beacon’s many programs and services. To that end, we’ve launched In Touch: Beacon Volunteer News: please click here to read the first (Spring/Summer 2019) edition (which is posted in the News & Publications Newsletters section, under About Us.)

Our volunteers help and improve lives: thousands of them!

Please call us at 250-656-5537 if you need volunteer help. Or you can visit the Volunteer Services and Opportunities page on the left to learn about the many ways our volunteers can help.

Sidney’s SHOAL Centre is the headquarters for Beacon’s Volunteer Services. From there, Beacon staff coordinate hundreds of generous volunteers who serve communities across the Capital Regional District and Gulf Islands areas.

Want to volunteer? We’ll help you find the program or activity that best suits your volunteer skills and interests. We’ll also train you and cover out-of-pocket expenses.

Connect with our Volunteer Services team if you want to learn a new skill, keep your hand in a favourite aspect of your current or previous employment, socialize with others, or help make our community a better place.

And if you need help from a volunteer, we’re the people to talk to.

Call us at 250-656-5537 for more information.
