Living Well, Dying Well

Thursday, May 9, 16, 23 & 30 

1 – 4pm

$150 or $250 for two people

Participate in a four week experiential and soulful approach to tending end of life matters with consciousness and care. From the practical details of Advance Care Planning, courageous conversations with family, friends and the medical system, to learning more of what services are available in the community and engaging in lively dialogue with others about dying and death; you will be part of a collective willing to re-imagine end of life in modern times. Victorian Fashion Show & Tea: A Royal Celebration!

Date: Wednesday, May 22

Time: 2 pm

Cost: $15

Join us for a tea and fashion show hosted by Heritage Productions to celebrate the birth of the new Royal Baby! Heritage Productions are delighted to put on an afternoon of entertainment with fashions covering the years of 1850 to 1960. The show will consist of 7 models with various costume changes accompanied by a lovely pianist. With tea and a plate of sweets you are sure to be delighted with the selection of clothing chosen for this show.


Walk the Labyrinth at SHOAL Centre 

Workshop:  Friday, May 24 3:30 – 4:30pm

Labyrinth Open: Fri, May 24: 4:30 – 9pm & Sat, May 25: 9am – 5pm

Cost: Free!

The labyrinth, presented by Henri Lock of UVIC Multi Faith Services is coming to SHOAL. Join us at the workshop to learn about the history of the labyrinth, how to meditate while walking the labyrinth and reflect on your own process and journey. Or, just drop-in and walk it to find some calm during a busy day, release stress and anxiety or reconnect with your sacred centre. Simple instructions for meditative walking of the labyrinth are posted. Everyone welcome. Brought to our community by the Sidney/ North Saanich Library Teen Advisory Group.

The Victorian Mendelssohn Choir:

Baroque from Bach to Vivaldi

Date: Sunday, May 26

Time: 3 pm

Cost: $20

The Mendelssohn Choir and Maestro Simon Leung along with Die Mahler String Quartet is coming to SHOAL once again to delight us with this moving musical performance. With pieces from Handel, J.S. Bach, Vivaldi and many more composers, this concert will not disappoint! Tickets can be purchased at the SHOAL Centre reception or over the phone by calling 250-656-5537.
