Jeneece Place home for families with ill children

On behalf of the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, Beacon operates Jeneece Place as a home away from home for sick kids’ families. Jeneece Place primarily serves families who travel from elsewhere so their child can receive medical care in the Capital Regional District (CRD); priority is given to those who are hospitalized for surgery or serious illness.

When rooms are available, other guests are also welcome (including from the CRD area) to stay in this comfortable, pleasant home.  Guests can include:

  • Pregnant women who need to be close to the Victoria General Hospital;
  • Families of children and youth in the Capital Regional District whose multiple trips to hospital are adding to the stress of an already difficult situation; and
  • Families with children (19 and under) who want to visit a parent who’s a patient at Victoria General Hospital.

Families who don’t require an overnight room are also welcome at Jeneece Place when children are receiving medical care. Day use may include accessing the home’s shower, laundry facility, games and activity area, and media room.

Please visit the Jeneece Place website for more information.
